This isn’t good on so many different levels of paint as it turns out that the Christian artist Thomas Kinkade was pulled over while driving in a plateless from the front Mercedes in Monterey County, California when the officer doing all the pulling smelled the odor of alcohol. Thomas Kinkade was the only one in the car, therefore, the smell must have come from him. Another officer was then called in order to administer the field sobriety test. The conclusion was that Thomas Kinkade was impaired and driving under the influence.
From there, Kinkade was arrested and booked, taken to Monterey County Jail. Blood alcohol levels from that night (Saturday, June 12th) have not been released.
This is a serious ouch on the man who is adored not only for his paintings but for the fact that he is a Christian. Again, the scriptures talk of not being drunk with strong drink at anytime, therefore, this is a real bummer for the talented “glow in the dark” painter. Even in this, one can look beyond this, pray for him to ditch whatever habit (if a habit) he may have, and then hope to see him never in this position again – as embarrassing as it is.
There has been no comment from Kinkade nor reps.
