When statues begin to bleed, the rocks may as well cry out. This time there is a statue of Jesus, better put, an image that people have erected to resemble what they believe Jesus to look like. Well, it is bleeding from the head – or so it is thought to be by many.
This “miracle” is occurring in an Argentine church where Jesus is seen in the Last Supper. The exact location of all excitement is happening at Oratory of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Yerba Buena, Tucuman province, according to Daily Mail, and it isn’t in the least bit convincing. Not sounding as if it is totally impossible for something like this to take place because as any and all people who believe on the LORD will testify that all things are possible in Him. In this particular case, however, God never places any “image” of diety ahead of Himself.
When people flock to statues and photos and things in awe and worship, God would be breaking His own command, would He not? God can’t ever do such a thing. Referring to the following scripture, a person can gather that God won’t be made second nor does He particularly care for images, as it may ensnare or end up creating a false image of diety that isn’t the true God.
Exodus 20
1THEN GOD spoke all these words:
2I am the Lord your God, Who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3You shall have no other gods before or besides Me.
4You shall not make yourself any graven image [to worship it] or any likeness of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;
5You shall not bow down yourself to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me,(A)
6But showing mercy and steadfast love to a thousand generations of those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Another scripture that talks about the ensaring part is the one beneath, though in this particular text, it was speaking of the silver or gold that makes up false gods because it will create a snare for you and basically cause a person to sin and stumble through a desire that would be placed before God. In other words, even in the case of a statue of “Jesus”, people will find themselves eventually kneeling to it instead of the real and true God/Jesus whom no one can see. That would create an idol.
There is no where in the Bible where God stated to kneel before anything but Him. Jesus can be worshiped, not his created and unreal image. Make sense? Looking back in the Word of God, one finds that many times people bow, lie in fasting as Ester or look up to the heavens when praying or in worship, but never before an image when talking to God Almighty.
Deuteronomy 7:24-26
24And He will give their kings into your hand, and you shall make their name perish from under the heavens; there shall no man be able to stand before you, until you have destroyed them.
25The graven images of their gods you shall burn with fire. You shall not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, lest you be ensnared by it, for it is an abomination to the Lord your God.
26Neither shall you bring an abomination (an idol) into your house, lest you become an accursed thing like it; but you shall utterly detest and abhor it, for it is an accursed thing.
For whatever the rhyme or reason for this blood oozing from the head of the artwork, it’s there for all to see. As of now, the validity of the whole deal is being tested – meaning is it real blood or fake. Things is, Jesus doesn’t bleed anymore. He isn’t of the flesh but risen in glory and honor.
