Comedy Central is bent on making people laugh, but at what and Who’s cost? There is a new cartoon in town, and it is tossing all jokes and jesting over at Jesus Christ and everything about him called JC. The Coalition Against Religious Bigotry is the conservative group coming down hard on Comedy Central calling the Comedy Central program vile and offensive. Read a clip from NYDN below:
“After we reveal the vile and offensive nature of Comedy Central’s previous characterizations of Jesus Christ and God the Father, we expect these advertisers to agree wholeheartedly,” Brent Bozell said in a statement.
“JC” is said to be about Jesus living it up in the big city after spurning his “powerful but apathetic father.”
The group is hoping to steer advertisers away from the show, and hopefully, they succeed. Many things can be joked about, however, when it comes down to Jesus Christ, that is a no-no. The Coalition will hold a press conference on Thursday against Comedy Central’s JC cartoon.
