Homosexuality, The Sin- An Argument Against God Or Man?

by admin

Homosexuality has been around for long time, and for the most part, it has been the secret society of sexuality behind closed doors, or in other words, not spoken about in the open.  The main reason for this is that instead of it being a the moral thing to do, it is the immoral thing to do.  Just as any other sin, for the most part, people aren’t proud of things that are considered immoral when it comes to their faith – in this case, Christianity.

It is written in the Bible which is inspired by God from the beginning to the end that homosexuality is a sin.  This is stated in both the old and the new testament.  One such reading is taken from Romans below:

Romans 1: 18-32  (Amplified Bible)

18For God’s [holy] wrath and indignation are revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who in their wickedness repress and hinder the truth and make it inoperative.

19For that which is known about God is evident to them and made plain in their inner consciousness, because God [Himself] has shown it to them.

20For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks). So [men] are without excuse [altogether without any defense or justification],

21Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.

22Claiming to be wise, they became fools [professing to be smart, they made simpletons of themselves].

23And by them the glory and majesty and excellence of the immortal God were exchanged for and represented by images, resembling mortal man and birds and beasts and reptiles.

24Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their [own] hearts to sexual impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves [abandoning them to the degrading power of sin],

25Because they exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, Who is blessed forever! Amen (so be it).

26For this reason God gave them over and abandoned them to vile affections and degrading passions. For their women exchanged their natural function for an unnatural and abnormal one,

27And the men also turned from natural relations with women and were set ablaze (burning out, consumed) with lust for one another–men committing shameful acts with men and suffering in their own bodies and personalities the inevitable consequences and penalty of their wrong-doing and going astray, which was [their] fitting retribution.

28And so, since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or approve of Him or consider Him worth the knowing, God gave them over to a base and condemned mind to do things not proper or decent but loathsome,

29Until they were filled (permeated and saturated) with every kind of unrighteousness, iniquity, grasping and covetous greed, and malice. [They were] full of envy and jealousy, murder, strife, deceit and treachery, ill will and cruel ways. [They were] secret backbiters and gossipers,

30Slanderers, hateful to and hating God, full of insolence, arrogance, [and] boasting; inventors of new forms of evil, disobedient and undutiful to parents.

31[They were] without understanding, conscienceless and faithless, heartless and loveless [and] merciless.

32Though they are fully aware of God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve to die, they not only do them themselves but approve and applaud others who practice them.

Another such scripture in the new testament reads as follows in 1 Corinthians:

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 (Amplified Bible)

9Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,

10Nor cheats (swindlers and thieves), nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.

11And such some of you were [once]. But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed), and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.

As far as the old testament, Leviticus reads as below:

Leviticus 18:22 (Amplified Bible)

22You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination.

Leviticus 20:13 (Amplified Bible)

13If a man lies with a male as if he were a woman, both men have committed an offense (something perverse, unnatural, abhorrent, and detestable); they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

With all these scriptures pointed out and plainly written of in the ancient scriptures, there still seems to always be controversy surrounding whether or not sexual sin is actually sin, in this particular topic – homosexuality.  It is plain to read that the Bible states that it is.  On that note, for those who challenge what is written as holy from God, is their argument against God or man when there is a debate?  Clearly in Romans 1:21 on down  it is written that turning against God’s order of nature ends up as a dishonor to Him, not mankind.  In conclusion, for those who argue for sexual appetites that God states are sinful, then their argument is against Him.

On the other hand, there are many who don’t believe that the scriptures that we read today mean what they actually say.  On that note, this is a matter of faith.  Do we serve a God of mistakes or does God never make mistakes?  See the difference.  Because of this difference in belief over homosexuality, many are at war with one another instead of doing what should be done which is studying the scriptures for themselves and then making the final decision in their own lives – as a one on one with God.

There are also many who say don’t judge.  Judging in fact is a no no.  No one is perfect and only He who is perfect can cast down a sentence, or judgment.  As far as judgments are concerned, the phrase don’t judge is used rather loosely, therefore, we can all take note on how Jesus addresses this judgment situation below:

Starting with a scripture from John 12:47-50 and it is written:

John 12:47-50 (Amplified Bible)

47If anyone hears My teachings and fails to observe them [does not keep them, but disregards them], it is not I (Jesus) who judges him. For I have not come to judge and to condemn and to pass sentence and to inflict penalty on the world, but to save the world.

48Anyone who rejects Me and persistently sets Me at naught, refusing to accept My teachings, has his judge [however]; for the [very] message that I have spoken will itself judge and convict him at the last day.

49This is because I have never spoken on My own authority or of My own accord or as self-appointed, but the Father Who sent Me has Himself given Me orders [concerning] what to say and what to tell.

50And I know that His commandment is (means) eternal life. So whatever I speak, I am saying [exactly] what My Father has told Me to say and in accordance with His instructions.

Just by reading this one scripture, we can deduce that one is to pray for all in hopes that we all do better, however, know that the judgment has already been put forth in writing. We all know full well what will happen to those not following God through salvation and turning their live around for the good.  Even Jesus in the above scripture states that He is only taking instruction, not judging — see again below.

That being reviewed, it isn’t a judgment to only repeat what God has stated. It is only a judgment to create a judgment in one’s self for a deed. Even then, there is no man who has not sinned and come short of the glory of God, therefore, no man can pass a sentence because there is always forgiveness through Jesus.

With such a complicated subject, there will always be an argument, however, it is fact that homosexuality is a sin along with fornication, adultery and the like. God has already stated these things as such. One only chooses whether to accept or reject…not mankind, but God.   The morality laws have always fallen from Him in the first place, right?

On that note, there is no need for hatred which is a sin as well, but if anyone believes a man’s actions to be sinful, pray for that particular person.  Allow God to do His work, but no one can change or alter the scripture.  We must pray for one another.
